Making creamy potato soup is easy: heat butter in a soup pot or Dutch oven and saute onion, celery, carrots, garlic, and parsley in butter. Sprinkle in flour and cook, stirring for 2 minutes before adding chicken broth slowly. Then add milk, potatoes, Worcestershire sauce, ground mustard, allspice, thyme, salt, pepper, and cayenne. Directions

1.To make the cream of potato soup: In a large soup pot, saute onion, celery, carrots, garlic, and parsley in butter until soft but not browned.

2. Sprinkle in flour and cook, stirring for 2 minutes. Add the chicken broth slowly, constantly stirring with a wooden spoon.

3. Add milk, potatoes, Worcestershire sauce, ground mustard, allspice, celery seed, thyme, salt, pepper, and cayenne. Simmer on low and allow the potato soup to thicken, frequently stirring, until the potatoes are cooked – approximately 25 minutes. During cooking, break up potatoes with the back of a spoon. Add more liquid – water or broth – if necessary.

4. Serve the cream of potato soup warm, topped with shredded cheese, and more chopped parsley. Enjoy! ❤️
