Frequently Asked Questions

How do I keep cookies fresh?

Store chocolate chip cookies in an airtight container, after allowing it to cool down completely, at room temperature. This would keep it fresh for up to 2 to 3 days. If you want to store it for longer, you can keep them in a freezer-safe bag and place it in the fridge, then just before snacking, re-heat them in the oven at 250 degrees Fahrenheit for about 5 to 10 minutes.

What should I do to ensure my cookies are chewy?

As mentioned above, the secret to chewy cookies is the shortened baking time. But there are also other ways worth mentioning. For instance, you might want to ditch butter when making chocolate chip cookies. Instead, use vegetable shortening. The vegetable shortening is primarily made of 100% fat, meaning there is no water and there is no chance that steam will come out. This means softer and chewier cookies.
