Reduce your waste

The impact of plastic pollution on our oceans is becoming increasingly clear, having drastic impacts on marine life. Recycling what we can reduces the amount of new materials we are making, and upcycling is a creative way to make old items into something more valuable.

Good news - there are ways to reduce Climate Change. What solutions to consider? Changing our main energy sources to clean and renewable energy. Solar, Wind, Geothermal and biomass could be the solution.

Be a green gardener by using peat-free compost and natural fertilisers and pesticides. Plant native species and be kind to all the insects and birds that feed on flower nectar and pollinate the fruits. If you can, support local wildlife around your home by setting up bee hotels, bird boxes, ponds and green roofs.

Good human impacts on the environment include reforestation, using clean energy, and protecting natural preserves and forests to maintain the natural biodiversity. Protection of habitats and even supporting protected growth of endangered species has allowed for some ecosystems to survive or prolong survival.

It underpins our economy, our society, indeed our very existence. Our forests, rivers, oceans and soils provide us with the food we eat, the air we breathe, the water we irrigate our crops with. We also rely on them for numerous other goods and services we depend on for our health, happiness and prosperity.

Do not waste energy (electricity and fuel) and water and do not litter and do not cut trees as all of these hurt the environment.

We must reduce our carbon footprint, reduce our use of natural resources, protect wildlife and natural habitats, and raise awareness about environmental issues. By taking these steps, we can ensure a sustainable future for ourselves and future generations.
