Love is in the air, but not everyone is a William Shakespeare and so with that in mind, we have found a way for you to create a Valentine’s Day poem with ease.
Enjoy :)
- One early vivd memory with your poem person. For example, when you first met, first kiss.
- One or two of your favourite memories with your person.
- Write about a scent. It could be a scent that reminds you of that person or simply a scent that you like.
- Write about a taste. For example, something sweet, fruity, savoury.
- Write one tactile sensation. For example, warm, soft, fuzzy.
- Write two things that you want to do with your person.
- Write one or two reasons why you would be sad if your person was not in your life.
- Write one or two reasons why you love that person.
- Write one or two things that your person has said to you.
- Write down what drew you to that person in the first place.
- For the title of the poem you can put either the person’s name or nickname.
- For your first line use your answer from number 1.
- For the last line of the poem use your answer from number 9.
- For the second line use your answer from number 10.
- For the third line use your answer from number 8.
- For the next line use your answer from number 2.
- For the next line use your answer from number 6.

Now you can fill out the rest of the poem using the other answers you have given and your creativity! If you feel the need to change some of your answers to fit in with your poem, then go for it!
Here is the poem I have written for my fiancé:
Mao Mao Chong
Sitting in Starbucks, you reached over and gently held my hand.
Like a first kiss, it felt like a lifetime.
I remember when I first saw your face and learned of your passions.
Such a bright star you seemed and you have lit up my days ever since.
I love the way you can make me laugh louder and longer than anyone else ever could.
I don’t just feel loved, but also understood.
Together we can take on any challenge like when we battled to the top of Mount Snowdon.
There I asked for your hand, and I gave you my heart.
I want to spend my life travelling the world with you, skating on frozen lakes and looking down from mountains high.
I love the scent of your cucumber perfume.
Like you, it is sweet, pleasant and makes my heart sing a tune.
I remember the salty taste of the clams in San Miguel.
A place I will take you too again
bringing you joy and happiness is my gift to you, your bouquet.
Without you I am but a blind man searching for his soul mate,
because you are my other half, my northern star, my darling.
You once told me that when you are with me, you feel home.
I can promise you that from now on, you will never be alone.
