How many minutes does it take to melt a Jolly Rancher? ›

A 1-minute stint in the microwave should be all your candies need to become melty, but if you find the Jolly Ranchers need more time, keep going for 15 seconds at a time. Eventually, you'll have a puddle of fruity goo ready to be poured into molds or used as a candy coating.

As of 2012, the passion mix, which included the peach flavor, and the wild berry mix were discontinued by The Hershey Company. The Hotties mix has been discontinued as of 2019. In 2020, the peach flavor has been brought back in an "all-peach" bag, and replaced the mountain berry flavor in the Fruity Bash bag.

Jolly Ranchers originally came in apple, grape, and Fire Stix flavors. Lemon, cherry, and pineapple were added later on. Eventually blue raspberry was included in the possible flavor options. Today the official flavors are watermelon, apple, grape, cherry, and blue raspberry.

The exact motives behind this decision remain shrouded in some mystery, though changing tides in consumer tastes and mounting competition seem likely factors. Though once riding high on a surge of nostalgia and novelty, Jolly Rancher Soda slowly lost its sparkle.
