Bottom Line
The 222-room, upper-mid-range Lido Beach Resort is located on Lido Key on the Gulf of Mexico, off the coast of Sarasota. A family-friendly property, the hotel has multiple pools, a beachfront tiki bar, and a restaurant atop the eighth floor of the tower. Rates are variable depending on room size (two-bedroom suites cost quite a bit more), but are reasonable for the area.

Lido Beach Resort
Hotel Class:Upper-middle-range
Scene
Family-friendly amenities and lively tiki-bar
The Lido Beach Resort makes use of a gorgeous stretch of white-sand beach near Sarasota, and is within walking distance to St. Armand’s Circle, a lushly landscaped shopping, dining, and entertainment district. The hotel is undergoing a complete room renovation, and meanwhile still caters to families. There are two pools (one is adults-only), as well as a tiki-style beach bar, and a restaurant atop the eighth-floor with panoramic views. A manmade mini-river surrounded by tropical landscaping runs throughout the grounds, and there's a bridge (and gazebo) connecting one side of the property to the other. The beach and lagoon-style pool areas have many lounge chairs and places to relax with a view.
