  1. My husband told me about this salad he had years ago and loved. Found this recipe and made it! He ate most of it. Will definitely make again! Cool salad for a hot summer day! Also added ripe bananas. He has requested maraschino cherries next time too!

  2. Made this for thanksgiving tomorrow. I Forgot to buy bananas, so I didn't use those, but this was VERY good. Next time I won't forget the bananas. And by next time, I mean like next week because I want to make a batch that I don't have to share with 12 people. lol.

  3. I was looking for a creamy fruit salad and decided to make this one. It was just what I was looking for! Good and creamy but not TOO sweet. I used sugar free, fat free instant pudding and light cool whip. I also used two fruit co*cktail and only one mandarin orange. I loved the banana in it and it didn't turn brown the next day so I'd go ahead and add it. We will be making this alot for a nice refreshing dessert. Thanks for posting it, Marie!

  4. I was looking for another fruit salad to make for the holiday's and I decided to try this one. The only change I made was that I omited the bananas because I made it a day ahead for Thanksgiving and was afraid they wouldn't hold up well and I used extra creamy cool whip. Other than that I followed the recipe exactly. I think using the pineapple juice from the can to dissolve the pudding helps to give this alot of flavor. This one wen't over well with everyone, especially the little ones. I was afraid that using the whole 8oz of cool whip would be too much but it was perfect! This set up really well and it was really easy. It was delicious! I would definately make this one again. Thank's for sharing!

Tweaks

  1. I hate Mandarin oranges, so I doubled the fruit co*cktail and it was delicious.

  2. Added an extra ounce of jello and doubled the pineapple. Turned out great.

  3. I used what I had for the fruit. On hand I had frozen pineapple, strawberries, and blueberries. Defrosted each in their own bowl in microwave on defrost setting. I drained the juice from the pineapple and added Simply Orange orange juice with mango to equal 4 ounces of liquid to mix with the pudding mix. I drained the juices from the blueberries. The strawberries didn't produce juice. Followed the rest of the recipe. Used half the cool whip and added 2 sliced bandanas at the end. Yum!
