Since 2011, we've been crafting clean, certified gluten free, and absolutely delicious muesli mixes. You could say we've been around the (breakfast) block a time or two when it comes to making the perfect bowl! Now we're passing our knowledge onto you...
How do I prepare muesli?
Given the versatility of muesli, there are endless ways to eat and use it, but don't let its diverse nature fool you. Preparing muesli is about as easy and convenient as it gets at breakfast time.Everyone finds their preferred preparation style, and this guide will help you get started to find your own.
MAKE IT COLD
Eating muesli cold is as easy as pouring a bowl of cereal with milk. Combine equal parts muesli and milkof choice (1/2 cup + 1/2 cup = one serving) and eat immediately.
Prefer a creamier, softer texture? (Think overnight oats!) Follow the same ratio, but let your mueslisoak in the fridge 20 minutes to overnight. Some prefer soaking their muesli for its ease of digestibility. Read more on that here!
Somemuesli eaterslike to load theirbowl or jar with extra toppings. We've seen anything from yogurt to nut butters, sweeteners like maple syrup and honey, fresh fruits, extra nuts and seeds, and even vegetables! The sky is the limit.
MAKE IT HOT
Oatmeal lovers will take to this method of preparation, which also happens to be our favorite on chilly winter mornings. Making hot muesli is easy and convenient:
On the Stovetop
Combine and simmer equal parts muesli andliquid (water or milk) in a pot over medium high heat for 3-4 minutes. Let stand 2 minutes.
In the Microwave
Combine and heat equal parts muesli andliquid (water or milk) ina microwave-safe bowl for 1 minute. Stir and let stand 2 minutes.
USE IT AS A TOPPING
Add a layer of muesli tofresh fruit and yogurt parfaits, or use a few spoonfuls on top of your next smoothie for a little added crunch. You can also add muesli into muffin mixes, cookie recipes, and a Barnstable personal favorite: put a big scoop of muesli into pancake mixes (~1/2 cup for every cup of pancake mix)!
