Understanding your Analytics | Linktree Help Center (2024)

Our Analytics provides insights into the performance of your Linktree. The more you share, promote, and create campaigns with your Linktree, the more views and clicks you'll receive on your links.

Here are the key terms you’ll see in your Linktree analytics charts.

View

A view is the total number of times a visitor has landed on your Linktree.

Example: If 1 visitor lands on your Linktree once, that's counted as 1 view. If that visitor visits your Linktree another 3 times, that's another 3 views which now equals 4 views.

Unique Views

Unique View is how many different times your Linktree URL has been clicked.

Example: If 1 visitor lands on your Linktree once, that's counted as 1 View. If that visitor visits your Linktree another 3 times from the same device, it would count as 1 Unique View.

Click

A Click is the total number of times visitors have clicked your links (This includes clicks on Store products, Subscriber notifications, Redirect Links).

Example: If a visitor on your Linktree clicks on 3 different links, your click count total would be three, but you can see exactly which links they are clicking in the dropdown Analytics on each link.

Unique Click

Unique Click shows how many individual visitors have clicked on one or more links on your Linktree.

Example: If 1 visitor clicks on 3 different links, your Unique Click count will be 1.

Available on Starter, Pro and Premium plans

CTR

CTR stands for Click Through Rate. It is the percentage of profile views that resulted in a link click (excluding Subscriber notifications and Redirect Links).

Example: If your CTR is 52%, then 52% of your views resulted in a click of one of your links.

CTR is calculated by dividing the number of clicks by how many views your profile has received. So if you've received 1,000 clicks and 2,000 views, your CTR would be 50% (2000/1000x100).

Subscriber

The total number of visitors that have clicked to Subscribe to your Linktree.

💡 CTR (click through rate) is a key metric to keep an eye on.

We see an average CTR of 60%, however this can vary based on follower count and industry. Two weeks after sharing your Linktree, check out your analytics and use that CTR as your own benchmark. In the coming weeks and months, if your CTR drops lower than your benchmark - it's time to change things in your Linktree! Check out our article on Analytics best practices for recommendations on how to do so.

The following analytics features are available on our starter plan and up!

This chart highlights your top five performing links, based on the number of clicks. Giving you an easy way to understand which links your visitors are most engaged with. This can be a great way to determine what Links you should move to the top or what kind of content you should create more of!

E.g. If you notice you are getting a lot of clicks on your music links but not your video links, explore adding additional music links.

  • To track visitors to your Linktree by their approximate location, we use IP tracking.

  • An IP address is what identifies a device on the internet or a local network.

  • Typically, IP-based geolocation tracking is more accurate in identifying the location at a country level. This accuracy reduces when funneling down to smaller regions, states, and cities. For the most accurate tracking, we recommend using the Country view in your Analytics.

This block shows your total Views from each referrer. A referrer is where your visitor came from before landing on your Linktree. This graph can help you decide which channel you should invest more or less time on.

To get counted as a Direct referrer, a visitor to your Linktree may have:

  • Typed or pasted your URL directly into their browser.

  • Followed a URL that was shared directly with them (e.g. in a text or private message).

  • Followed a URL that was saved as a bookmark.

  • At times, web browsers don’t send us referrer information. If this is the case, these will be counted as "Direct referrers" as well.
