On September 19, 2022, Sumner posted a clip on her TikTok page that provided details of a supposed affair with Adam Levine.
Sumner took to social media to explain herself and claimed that she did so because a close friend of hers was allegedly preparing to leak messages between her and Levine to an unspecified tabloid.

In the video, the influencer displays Instagram DM's between herself and the singer while claiming: "I was having an affair with a man who’s married to aVictoria’s Secretmodel.
"At the time, I was young, I was naive, and, I mean, quite frankly, I feel exploited.
"I wasn't in the scene like I am now, so I was definitely easily manipulated."
She added: "I never wanted to come forward because obviously, I know the implications that come with doing what I do, making money the way I do, and being an Instagram model.
"I wanted to handle this privately. I mean...my morals were unknowingly compromised. I was completely manipulated."
The Maroon 5 frontman denied the affair rumors and responded on Instagram: "A lot is being said about me right now and I want to clear the air.
"I used poor judgment in speaking with anyone other than my wife in ANY kind of flirtatious manner.
"I did not have an affair, nevertheless, I crossed the line during a regrettable period in my life."
The Voice alum disclosed to his followers: "In certain instances it became inappropriate; I have addressed that and taken proactive steps to remedy this with my family.
"To be this naive and stupid enough to risk the only thing that truly matters to me was the greatest mistake I could ever make.
"I will never make it again. I take full responsibility. My wife and my family is all I care about in this world."

On Tuesday, September 20, Sumner followed up on the claims she made in her TikTok clip the day before with another video further explaining herself.
The Texas-born vlogger shared with her followers: "I initially wanted to go in and talk about how remorseful I feel and embarrassed and disgusted I am with myself - but, I didn't want people to look at it and think 'Oh she's playing the victim.'
Regarding her role in the Adam Levine affair allegations, Sumner doubled down on the claims that she made in the first video because "one of her friends attempted to sell" the story to an unnamed tabloid that reached out to Sumner and those supposedly involved.
"I was completely frantic, that is why that video is so all over the place," she commented.
