Is Nomorobo really free? ›

Nomorobo^{® 1} is a free, third-party service that can reduce robocalls and automated telemarketing calls to your AT&T business phone. Nomorobo identifies incoming calls from known robocallers and hangs up the call before you answer.

If it's a legitimate call, the call goes through to your number. If the call is an illegal robocaller, Nomorobo intercepts the call and hangs up for you. Your phone will ring once letting you know that the robocall has been answered and stopped.

As Nomorobo reviews reveal, the service is generally considered safe to use and can be effective in cutting down on unwanted robocalls.

You can register your numbers on the National Do Not Call Registry at no cost by calling 1-888-382-1222 (voice) or 1-866-290-4236 (TTY). You must call from the phone number you wish to register. You can also register at add your personal wireless phone number to the national Do-Not-Call list donotcall.gov.

From time to time, phone carriers will push an update that disables the "Simultaneous Ring" feature. This causes Nomorobo to disable. If you notice robocalls are getting through again, please check the Simultaneous Ring feature and make sure it's ON and has the Nomorobo Number listed.

While Nomorobo does offer spam call blocking, YouMail's top priority is protecting you from bad actors. YouMail's robocall blocking technology blocks spammers looking to steal your private information.

For mobile numbers, it's $1.99 USD per month, per mobile device. There is also an option of paying $19.99 USD for an annual subscription, per mobile device. Minimum Software Requirement: Nomorobo Mobile can be used on iOS devices running iOS 10 and up. It's also available on all Android devices running ADR 4.1 and up.

If you answer the phone and stay on the line until the scammer says something, it notes that your phone is in service. Even if you ask, no one will take you off the list or add you to a 'do not call' list. You'll end up getting more calls from more scammers. The best thing you can do is not answer the call at all.

Enable Caller ID and spam protection on Android

Caller ID and spam protection is a tool found on many Android phones, and it can filter unwanted calls. This is free to use and built into the Phone app. Open the Phone app, tap the three-dot icon, and select Settings. Under the Assistive settings, tap Caller ID & spam.
