HOW DO SESSIONS COURSES WORK?

Sessions courses are taught during the semester in a condensed format. Sessions 2-6 generally range from five to sixweeks in length. Spring or Winter Mini Sessions can be as short as two weeks. The same amount of content is covered in a shorter time frame compared to what is normally covered during a 16-week semester. Classes may be taught face to face, hybrid, or online.

WHAT ARE THE SESSIONS?

Sessions courses are scheduled during UH Sessions 2-6 and Spring or Winter Mini Sessions. More information on when these classes occur can be found on the academic calendar .

HOW DO I FIND AND ENROLL IN CLASSES?

The complete list of all Winter Mini Session classes can be found in the CLASS SEARCH option of your myUH self-service account. Under CLASS SEARCH CRITERIA, select your Course Career from the drop-down menu and use the ADDITIONAL SEARCH CRITERIA section to choose Mini Session from the drop-down menu.

WHAT COURSES ARE OFFERED?

Sessions courses are core curriculum and non-core curriculum classes. The availability of courses in a Sessions format will vary each year. Please refer to the Class Search for the current listing of Sessions courses.

HOW DO I REGISTER FORSESSIONS COURSES?

Current UH students can register for Sessions courses using AccessUH . Students register for Sessions courses the same way as other courses.

DO SESSIONS COURSES COST DIFFERENT?

Although Sessions courses are taught in a shortened format, they cost the same as courses offered during the long semester.

WHAT ARE THE ACADEMIC POLICIES FOR ENROLLMENT?

Students may not enroll in the Winter Mini Session if Spring is your first UH semester or the Summer Mini Session if Summer is your first UH semester. Students must also be in good academic standing with a UH GPA above 2.0. Please note, enrollment is limited to one class. Only your Academic Advisor can grant permission for more than one Winter or Summer Mini Session class.
