Relaxation Massage (six-month program)

A massage is relaxing and what could be more relaxing than having a masseur who can feel your body with a superior sense of touch?

This is a six-month training course to prepare visually impaired persons to become professional masseurs and therapists. The training covers Thai, Swedish, Japanese, aroma, head and face massages. Additionally, the trainees learn human anatomy and physiology, techniques of pain management by applying foot reflexology and Sujok therapy. With this, meridian acupressure point and the use of hydrotherapy in pain management are also taught.

For the benefit of the masseurs trained by the Association, a part-time Ayurvedic massage training programme is conducted to upgrade their skills. The training is conducted in association with Shahnaz Husain International Beauty Academy, which provides free services of a trainer and the required consumables.

Besides the above, the trainees also learn communication skills, basic computer skills with assistive technology, and mobility.

The current as well as former trainees are provided with opportunities to demonstrate their skills to the general public, at the Association’s Diwali Bazaar; SSB Diwali Bazaar, Army Golf Club, and American School Embassy.
